Remove a password lock screen with VPN

To Remove a password lock screen with VPN/Stored Credentials on Android 
(2015 - Android - 4.2 + 4.4)

1. Set up your VPN
2. Add pin lock screen password protection
3. Lock the phone and enter the password wrong 5 times
4. Press OK to the message that pops up
5. Press “forgot pin”
6. Log in with your Google account
7. Select Lock with Pin
8. Press cancel and don’t set a new Pin

Additionally, make sure your configuration is set to lock the screen immediately otherwise you will have to wait 15 minutes before the lock screen will show up.  In my humble opinion this is completely ridiculous and Google should be ashamed.  I hope in future versions of Android they will address this issue and make this more user friendly.  Until then, I hope they don’t fix the hack I used to get this to work.
